We’re thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2018 JIFF Short Film Fund: Michael Weisler for his domestic drama The Birth of Hunter Finkelstein, and Richard Moore for Thank G-d. Written by and starring Deborah Leiser Moore, Thank G-d presents a humorous exploration of the woman’s sexual role, and power, in the Jewish religion.

With a pool of extremely strong entries from around Australia, industry judges Mike Selwyn and Gal Greenspan awarded the funding to two particularly creative entries that were both highly original in their subject and perfectly suited to the short film format.

The Birth of Hunter Finkelstein and Thank G-d will premiere at JIFF in October 2018 – we can’t wait to see these new films on the big screen!
