The wildly successful Belgian Would I Lie to You? franchise returns with its third instalment, The Truth – a bombastic continuation of the saga of Jewish garment workers in Paris hoping to make it big. Would I Lie to You? 3 is 2012’s French box office hit with over 5 million admissions.
Picking up where the second chapter concluded, our entrepreneurs are thriving in business. Perennial no-hoper Serge (José Garcia) is eager to continue this success, and is in the midst of negotiating a lucrative deal with a group of Chinese investors.
Dov (Vincent Elbaz) is at his irreverent best. Eddie (Richard Anconina) is as enterprising as ever. Yvan (Bruno Solo) struggles with a transitional phase in his life, and Patrick (Gilbert Melki) deals with the enduring angst of unrequited love. All this takes place against the thriving backdrop of the Parisian borough of Aubervilliers where our friends have migrated from moribund Sentier.
Can the group put aside growing discord to win over the Chinese investors? Or will their friendship succumb to the obstacles and adversity they face in The Truth: Would I Lie To You? 3.
