Russian Jews: Part Three—After 1948

Russian Jews: Part Three—After 1948

Russian Jews: Part Three - After 1948 depicts the tumultuous leadup to the fall of the Soviet Union. The assassination of Solomon Mikhoels, the leader of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, initiated a new era for the relationship between the Soviet Union and its Jews, including a new wave of officially sanctioned anti-Semitism that drove many Jews to involvement in ‘anti-Soviet activities’ and, eventually, emigration.

Watch the Russian Jews documentaries consecutively (in a single day), or across multiple sessions spread over three weeks. On Sunday, 19 Nov, at the Classic Cinemas, Elsternwick, After the Tears will be supplying a spread of delicious Eastern European treats to feast on between sessions. Nostrovia!
