“The kind of gripping, genre-fueled drama anyone in the world can relate to.” – Slant Magazine
Ovadia is the strongest and most violent doorman at the Tel Aviv night clubs. He has no fear of anything and has never lost a fight; he asserts his dancefloor dominion with a stern eye and a strong fist. His greatest dream is to become a father and he and his wife Rachel have been trying for almost 5 years without any luck. When a small time gangster sees great potential in Ovadia and offers him lucrative work, Ovadia is pulled into a world of crime where he finds his moralities and beliefs tested.
The sophomore film from Meni Yaesh (God’s Neighbours), Our Father is a gritty and visceral thriller with strong performances from husband and wife duo, Moris Cohen and Rotem Zisman-Cohen. Moris Cohen won the Best Actor Award at Jerusalem Film Festival; and this film was nominated for an equal highest twelve 2016 Ophir Awards (Israeli Oscars), including Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Script.
