Hunting Elephants opened the Jerusalem Film Festival and was nominated for seven 2013 Ophir Awards (Israel’s Oscars).
A huge box-office smash in Israel, Reshef Levi’s Hunting Elephants unites some of Israel’s most treasured stars of the stage and screen alongside Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek) in this modern-day heist film. After losing his father in traumatic circumstances, socially awkward yet brilliant teenager Jonathon (Gil Blank) is left in a nursing home by his mother with former bankrobber and curmudgeonly grandfather, Elijah, played by award-winning actor Sasson Gabay, to keep him company. Together, Jonathon and Elijah — with help from fellow nursing home resident, Nick (Moni Moshonov), and an eccentric English uncle, Lord Michael Simpson (Stewart) — hatch a scheme to help Jonathon avenge his father’s death and re-live their glory days.
