Nate (Flight of the Conchord’s Jemaine Clement), in crisis and suffering from writer's block, is forced to move into his father’s retirement community. His wisecracking father, Bob (Elliott Gould), believes humour to be the antidote to life’s problems, but his nonchalant attitude comes at the detriment of emotional engagement with his son. In an attempt to break out of his funk and become closer to Bob, Nate teams up with the elderly residents to produce a concert version of The Mikado, leading to raucous and unpredictable antics.
From the writer of Old Jews Telling Jokes, Humor Me is a joyous and laugh-out-loud exploration of the complexities of the father-son relationship.
