“…a warm and insightful exploration of the difficult mesh of the political and the personal” – Cleveland Jewish News
Cynical and ambitious Berliner Hanna goes to Israel to volunteer with mentally disabled people in an attempt to boost her resume and to prove herself. She meets brusque social worker Itay, who baits her with Holocaust jokes, while openly flirting with her. Hanna becomes more interested in Israel and her own family history, and begins to question her identity and her priorities.
Hanna’s Journey presents an engaging and provocative commentary on the aftereffects of the Holocaust on third-generation Germans and Israelis.
