Freak Out (Mesuvag Harig)

Freak Out

Matan is a pencil-pushing soldier in the Israel Defence Force who is missing his mum. He’s assigned to patrol a remote base in the north of the country with a group of soldiers he doesn’t know, and the homesick Matan is an easy target for the bored soldiers who decide to make his life hell. But when strange and frightening things begin happening around them, the soldiers begin to question whether any of them will come out of this routine assignment alive.

Freak Out is a great example of Israel’s new wave of playful genre cinema.
